We had splendid vacation in this beautiful rental house!
If you're looking to get away from it all, to hear nothing but in the sounds of nature, to relax, and to gaze at the stars at night, this is for you.
We found the house clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and spacious with its three bedrooms and one-and-a half bathrooms. The living room overlooks the clearing in the woods, and when the screened windows are open, it has a lovely breeze. Outside, the gazebo invites for reading, playing, and eating at the table. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. Situated at the end of a one-way street on a mountain, we did not hear anything but the wind in the trees.
The location of the house is excellent: Within a few minutes drive, you can reach several trailheads of the Catskill Park, and reach small towns such as Margaretville, Belleayre, or Andes. This area of the Catskills is great for hiking and taking in the breathtaking beauty of the mountains. Even on a holiday weekend, we did not find it crowded.
Traveling with two small children, we appreciated the playgrounds and public pools in the area. The DURR railroad in Arkville was a highlight for the kids, and we found several easy hiking trails for young ones. In the home, the owners have an array of family-friendly books and movie DVDs for rainy day entertainment.
The owners checked in with us daily via text and sent us suggestions about local events. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this house!
