Ferienunterkünfte nahe Serra do Gerês

We (family of 4 with two sons, aged 17 and 15 from Germany) stayed for two weeks at the end of July / beginning of August. The house is very nice and invites on the one hand to spend time here, but on the other hand is an ideal starting point for a variety of activities. In the Peneda National Park we hiked some very varied trails (the app Wikiloc has saved some good routes here, otherwise there are good suggestions on the website or in the tourist office). We have also made trips to Braga, Guimarães, Porto, Santa Cruz, the coast and the Douro Valley. The house is very well equipped and even the kids were happy with the WiFi :-). The pool is large and offers beautiful views. Gerês offers several restaurants where you can eat at very reasonable prices. If you do without the car, you have will loose the calories as quickly as you eat them, because the way to the house is not long but quite steep. The morning walk to the bakery replaced in any case the jogging. But the house offers a great view, where you can enjoy the evenings with a good glass of port wine in absolute peace. Two highlights around the topic of port wine: - Lunch at Graham's Port Lodge in Porto with a fantastic view of Porto. If you want to avoid the not quite cheap food you can just enjoy a glass of port wine on the terrace. - In the Douro Valley, we visited the Sandeman Winery (Quinta de Seixo), with a magnificent view over the vineyards. Overall, a great holiday for each of us had something to offer, in a beautiful house with very nice hosts. Highly recommended, as long as you are not aiming for the classic beach holiday, but a healthy mix of activities and chill out at the pool.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und modern. Die Klimaanlage sorgt auch dafür das man nicht zu heiß läuft. Es ist sehr sauber und alles was man benötigt zum Kochen ist vorhanden. Der Blick aus den Schlafzimmer ist wirklich toll. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden.

Das Haus liegt sehr idyllisch am Rande von Campo do Gerês in einem sehr schönen Wandergebiet. Es hat große luftige Schlafzimmer. Da es ein altes traditionelles Steinhaus ist, strahlt es viel Charme aus, ist im Erdgeschoss allerdings auch ein wenig dunkel und feucht. Man teilt sich den Außenbereich mit einem Haus diekt daneben. Eine Veranda mit Gartenmöbeln gibt es leider nicht. Die schriftliche Kommunikation mit Maria war sehr angenehm und herzlich.
