Best described as durty

Half our party refused to stay due to roaches and cleanliness. VRBO was worthless to provide any help, I emailed them all the photos and videos they requested and with every one they noticed more problems with the property and kept asking for more photos. I got to the point where I told VRBO to proceed with filing my complaint and they didn’t respond. VRBO customer service was a joke at best and the property was filthy.

Couldn’t stay here left after one night

We arrived and had to leave for another hr after check in as they were still trying to clean up. They left all the cleaning supplies laying around after they left. Place still wasn’t clean and smelled bad. Fridge had old food in it. Stove didn’t work. Turned burners on to cook some bacon and eggs and cockroaches started running around. My son had bugs crawling on him in bed. Mice also running around. Had a shed full of garbage across from house. Window air unit surrounded fell out left gaping hole which we had to try and fix with electrical tape. Left after one night and we are trying to get a refund as we couldn’t stay there and had to find another place to stay. No refund as of yet…

Great Place to stay

The house is older but was very clean. The owner was there at check in doing some final touches on the place. It was perfect for a group of fishermen looking for a place to sleep! We never saw the house in daylight but it was great for us!

Beautiful place

We were in town for a girls softball tournament and even though we didn’t get to spend a great deal of time at the house We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s is a nice quiet place and we will definitely come again if we are in the area and maybe even just to enjoy the place a bit more. Chris was awesome! Couldn’t ask for a better host!

Owner Chris is a nice guy but his house should not be rented out until it is thoroughly cleaned

Communication was fine with Chris. He told us how to get in and upon arrival was there at the property, cutting the grass ( which was extremely overgrown). We noticed several areas that needed cleaning. Our friends clothing and ours, in 2 separate bedrooms, were infested with ants. Our friend put a pair of shorts on, not realizing it, and was bitten. The decor was old but this was not a big deal to us. The cleanliness of the place is another story. Also, if you plan to use the dock be forewarned that the hydrilla is extremely thick and there are stumps to watch out for. I suppose the place would be fine for a bunch of guys for a fishing trip but I would not bring anyone that cares about staying in a clean house!

Property and house was like stepping into grandma place. Loved the decor. All 3 bedrooms and bathrooms function well. There were a few little issues and spoke with the owner and hope he will take notice. Over all I would say it was a alright place. But not something I would rent again.

Great spot on the Lake, Chris was great to work with!

Had a great time on the lake. Chris was great and readily available. Lots of space! Three small recommendations to help attract more families would be Internet, that way we can have the kids devices hooked up and fixing the oven. It worked but you cannot really see what temperature it is set at as it is very faint. Lastly a fire pit, the neighbors were very nice and brought theirs over for my kids to make smores. Outside of those recommendations, the place was great and we would definitely go back! Thanks Chris!

Cozy place on the lake.

We had a great time. The house is cozy and huge! We had plenty of room as we had a couple guests come and go. The deck was nice for morning coffee and we LOVED fishing off the pier! We also used the boat slip down the road and parked it at the dock out back for easy access. Chris was a great host, super friendly (his brother and girlfriend also), and helpful with letting us know about the fishing. This house was also close to DG, a gas station and an awesome little bait store that had everything you would need. (Bait, meat, fresh produce, clothes, poles, TOO much to list!) Overall it was a GREAT trip!

As advertised

Property was perfect for our needs. Covered boat house was a huge benefit since we stayed a week and could leave my boat on the water instead of trailering every day. Although the ramp is very convenient if you chose to do so. Only remotely negative thing would be TV reception. It was in and out. No big deal for us adults but the toddler likes her cartoons. One large piece of advice for future renters, Google maps does NOT take you to correct address. Just glad no one was home when we came pulling up well after dark into the wrong front yard. Address for this location is actually about a quarter mile farther down the road. However the address is visible out front if you look for it. Obviously I didnt... overall we had a wonderful stay and will consider staying here again should we make a return trip to the lake.

Lovely home

I agree with other reviewers that this property is much more spacious than what it appears to be. We loved all having a bathroom connected to each of the 3 bedrooms. The dock was very nice. We didn't have great luck fishing, but that was lack of skill, probably. New small grocery/bait store opened within a 10 minute drive with most everything you need. We enjoyed our stay!

Quiet Getaway #2

This is our second time renting this property and we love it. I saw one bad review but maybe the person writing it was just having a bad day. I think the owner has done a good job of updating the house, without taking away from the charm. Reminds us of going to Grandmas house, feels comfortable and always welcoming. The house is very big and we think a good value for the money. We especially enjoyed the dock and water view. The kids fished off the dock and we took them to Seminole State Park to swim. The boat landing is just down the road so was very convenient for us to launch the boat.

Unkept house

Dont stay here until the owner does some serious cleaning!!! This house needs a lot of TLC. The front stoop carpet is soaked and should be thrown away, all light fixtures should be cleaned and bug bodies cleaned, carpet in house is sooooo dirty, it smells like someone smoked in the house and having the automatic room freshener doesn't help mask the smells. Outside needs to be washed and light fixtures cleaned too. TV dish was broken so you can't watch t.v. at all. No dishwasher so everything was by hand. No WiFi. Dryer door won't stay closed. Only thing that worked great was AC, washer and dock.
